There's this girl in my grade who goes to Beauty school like two times a week and when she goes she takes half a day of regular classes and then leaves for beauty school.
I want to go to become a hair stylish.
What is this called?
What would qualify me for this?
How can I find one near me?
I would just ask her but we're not friends and I want to sign up asap, not wait to see her in school.
Any and all answers are appreciated X].
Thanks in advanced.Cosmetology [Beauty] school and High School?
It sounds like it could be a vocational technology (vo-tech) cosmetology class. A lot of cosmetology schools offer programs like this to help high school students get an edge on a career in cosmetology.
Most cosmetology programs require that you be at least 16 years of age. Talk to your school counselor about this program and the possibility of enrolling.
Below is a link to a site where you can find all the cosmetology/beauty schools in your area. There is also a link to the Beauty School Lounge, where you can network with other beauty students, teachers and professionals to learn more about the beauty industry.
I hope this helps!

Beauty/Cosmetology School ........?
I'm thinking of enrolling in a Beauty or Cosmetology School..... A little older than most, approaching 30 soon. I am looking to change careers and possibly start my own job. I would like to get some feed back regarding this career. Is it really something that you can learn, or do you have to born with these skills? Is it affordable? And if you started your own Business (Beauty Salon) was it too overwhelming or expensive, or do you just need a good loan and lots of fresh great ideas to attract customers.......Beauty/Cosmetology School ........?
If you have a legit interest and passion in the beauty industry - you have what it takes :)
Being older than the average student is a plus, because you will have more years of experience working with people, and clients tend to trust you more. An interesting fact we learned is that 50% + of your future clientele will be based on how you bond/interact and form relationships with your clients, and not your skills.
I wasn't a natural or born with skills, and most people aren't either. I had to work hard. Practice really makes perfect in this industry. It helps that I am a perfectionist and am really interested in beauty/fashion.
It is expensive. My school was 13 grand. Starting your own business would be expensive too, but you could always start a mobile business or run a small beauty shop out of your home.

Ive been wanting to start a business of beauty consulting without having a cosmetology degree or fashion.?
I have great talent and have helped many women in general. I have an eye for this and many people have confirmed it and already come to me for help on their looks. SHould i go ahead and start a business in this without having certifications to back me up? i have a degree in marketing which is something eventhough it doesn't have exactly to do with beauty products i chose that degree because it would help me with every business that i choose to do. My question is, do you guys suggest i persue this business or focus more into the retail business in general? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Beforehand for all your help.Ive been wanting to start a business of beauty consulting without having a cosmetology degree or fashion.?
you can do the fashion part regardless - as far as needing the cosmetology license goes, legally you can not apply the makeup without a license. You can tell people what to use, and how to apply it, but you can't actually apply any of it.
So, a cosmetology license certainly isn't a requirement, but you can surely see how it'd make your job much easier, and potentially more profitable. I know if I was coming to someone for makeup advice, I'd want them to show me, not just tell me.Ive been wanting to start a business of beauty consulting without having a cosmetology degree or fashion.?
it would be better to be certified since you do like doing this. you can own the business but will not be able to work on customers with out a license that's the law. if you go full time it takes 9 months partime a yr %26amp; a half which ever you choose is the best thing is to be certified. i dont know if this is wat you were planning on doing but banks will be more willing to loan to someone with certification in the business they're trying to establish.
go and do it if that will make you happy. all you have to do is employ someone who is qualified and get them to teach you a the trade while you work together. plenty of people do it and there businesses are success-full just pretend you are know one will ever know how hard can it be?
You have to be certified in the state your business is located or you could be shut down.
As long as you aren't actually doing the ';hands on';, you're cool. You don't need a cosmo degree to hire those who do.

What are some careers you could consider that has to do with beauty? Besides cosmetology?
Cosmetology is a wide field. Hair, makeup, nails...makeup in itself has tons of variety, from working in a salon to doing special effects on movies. What are some careers you could consider that has to do with beauty? Besides cosmetology?
^ Isn't that cosmetology? (Marty)
Try modeling? What are some careers you could consider that has to do with beauty? Besides cosmetology?
Modeling, Advertising, Porno????
You could be a hairstylist or manicurist.
Work for a cosmetic surgeon. People will always want their services.
a make-up artist for movies/tv.
Hitwoman. No one would suspect a pretty girl to be a cold blooded killer

Currently attending cosmetology school and wondering how much money it cost to open a beauty salon.?
and if a business degree is necessary?thanxCurrently attending cosmetology school and wondering how much money it cost to open a beauty salon.?
a business degree is not necessary, however business know-how IS necessary and also management skills.
definitely work in a salon for a good amount of time, both as a hairdresser and a receptionist before you start your business ventures. you dont want to end up having to close down due to your own inexperience.
